What is HATA RA?

Haka La, or Hata Ra as Kalehua prefers, is safe sungazing.  It is from Orero Matuahine (our Mother Tongue).  Hata means “to stare or gaze” and Ra is, in this case, “sun.”

SAFE sungazing is the act of looking at either the first hour of sunrise or the last hour of sunset.  An art practiced thousands of years ago by our Polynesian ancestors and many other cultures around the world, harnessing the energy from the sun as their primary source of food, whereby limiting or at many times even eliminating their intake of food as the sun for them, was, as Kalehua believes, our primary source of energy.

On Friday, July 24, 2015, Kalehua embarked on a 90 day journey to gain firsthand experience in Hata Ra.  His progress can be followed on his Facebook page and he has posted some pretty fabulous insights about this ancient practice and his experiences, both mentally and physically.

KALEHUA UPDATE - September 21. 2015

BACKGROUND OR HISTORY OF HATA RA

Kalehua became interested in Hata Ra when he began viewing videos of Hira Ratan Manek (www.solarhealing.com).  Being a gifted natural healer himself, Kalehua is always looking for alternative healing options, when this modality caught his eye.  From Manek’s website:

The sun has been worshipped in ancient civilizations and countless stories have been told of the power and respect that people gave to the sun.  Perhaps it is because ancient people knew the true power of the sun.

LEARN ABOUT THE SAFE AND PROPER WAY TO SUNGAZE

Kalehua will be offering presentations on Hata Ra ~ how he learned about it, his experiences to date, testimonials from others who are beginning the practice under Kalehua’s mentorship, and the safe and proper way to sun gaze.  In addition, he will field questions at the end of the presentation so interested people can practice Hata Ra, too. Please check the Future Events page for upcoming presentation dates.
